Project Overview
Ondaadad: Ancestors of Aamjiwnaang is an exploration game developed in collaboration with the Aamjiwnaang First Nation to create an educational and historically informed experience for local youth. The game follows Young Gull (a historical figure), as he prepares for a journey by gathering equipment and materials from band members and the local area. Players engage with and learn about local flora, fauna, natural resources, the ancestors of the Aamjiwnaang people, how they live, and the stories they passed along.
My Contribution
I designed and implemented interaction systems, menu flows, cutscenes, and both inventory and quest mechanics within Unreal Engine 5. This required proficiency in blueprint and scripting and C++, efficient UI/UX development, and integration of various gameplay elements. I also contributed to the overall Game Design Document (GDD), Technical Design Document (TDD), and system documentation.
